The Cesar Chavez Champions put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shadow Ridge 72-37 at home. Considering Cesar Chavez has won seven matchups by more than 31 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Cesar Chavez's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lakeisha Robinson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The game was Robinson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alex Ballard, who scored 18 points.
Despite the loss, Shadow Ridge still got an impressive performance from Aalayah Ramirez, who scored ten points. The contest was Ramirez's third in a row with at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Shadow Ridge were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cesar Chavez only racked up 19 assists.
Cesar Chavez's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Shadow Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Cesar Chavez will head out on the road to face off against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cibola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday. Shadow Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Alhambra is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
