The Eastside Eagles will be playing at home against the Riverside Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside will stroll in with a five game home winning streak (dating back to last season), but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their January 27 matchup with Riverside.
Last Friday, Eastside came up short against Greer and fell 48-37. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastside in their matchups with Greer: they've now lost seven in a row.
Eastside got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Kristen Mcbride and
Laila Harvey, who each put up seven points.
Meanwhile, Riverside had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 71-26 victory over Laurens at home. Given Riverside's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Laurens is ranked 117th), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eastside's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3. As for Riverside, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7.
Eastside came up short against Riverside when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 54-47. Can Eastside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
