Softball Recap: Oak Lawn Has No Trouble Against Thornton Fractional North

Oak Lawn won the last time they faced Thornton Fractional North and things went their way on Monday too. The Spartans blew past the Meteors 16-1. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Teagan Kryzstof was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Aubrey Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Oak Lawn hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Oak Lawn's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Thornton Fractional North, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Lawn will face off against Blue Island Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.08 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thornton Fractional North, they will challenge Lemont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lemont HS will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Meteors surely won't give up without a fight.
