The Floyd Central Highlanders suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 74-49 loss at the hands of Jeffersonville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Floyd Central has scored all season.
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Rushing, who scored 16 points. Rushing has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Mcquigg, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Floyd Central were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Leading Jeffersonville to victory were P.j. Douglas and Michael Cooper. Douglas scored 17 points, while Cooper scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ray Laird, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Floyd Central and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Jeffersonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
