Softball Recap: Douglas Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Douglas barely beat Geraldine the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-1 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mollie Kate Driver was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Amarilys Padilla also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Geraldine only posted an OBP of .300.

Douglas' record is now 13-4. As for Geraldine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11-1.

Coming up, Douglas will welcome Crossville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Geraldine, they will take on Valley Head in a tournament on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.53 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
