Baseball Recap: Ocoee Has No Trouble Against Lake Buena Vista

Ocoee won against Circle Christian last Friday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Knights' way against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers as they made off with a 14-3 win. Considering the Knights have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ocoee got a massive performance out of Dwight Oneal, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Oneal is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Shimar Woodard was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Ocoee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Buena Vista only posted an OBP of .400.

The victory made it two in a row for Ocoee and bumps their season record up to 9-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Lake Buena Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Ocoee will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Edgewater at 7:00 p.m. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
