Nicholas County is 1-9 against Hoover since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Nicholas County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Braxton County with a sharp 17-0 win. With that victory, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 8.8 runs per game.
Abby Hilleary made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Addison Truman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Hanshaw, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Nicholas County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoover). They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Nitro on Tuesday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Jayley Carper, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ayva Veltri was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
The victory got Nicholas County back to even at 2-2. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Nicholas County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Hoover struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
