The Dunmore Bucks will venture away from home to challenge the Mountain View Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dunmore will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Dunmore made easy work of Western Wayne and carried off a 12-6 victory. Considering the Bucks have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rachel Walsh and Paige Ancherani made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Walsh pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Ancherani didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Walsh went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ancherani went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Emily McGowan and Jackie Brown did most of the damage at the plate: McGowan went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Brown went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most doubles McGowan has posted since back in March. Peyton Ancherani was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Dunmore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.
Hanover Area hit Mountain View with a eight-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Hawkeyes, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kilmer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Mountain View has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Dunmore, their record now sits at 13-5.
Mountain View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dunmore has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. It's a different story for Mountain View, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Dunmore's hitters?
Dunmore got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Mountain View by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
