After losing to the Lake Mary Prep Griffins the last time they met, the Horizon Hawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Horizon walked away with a 58-47 win over Lake Mary Prep on Thursday.
Adonys Christo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of De?shannon Williams, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Lake Mary Prep still got an impressive performance from Wade Brashears, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Brashears also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Cael Ogden was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Horizon's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lake Mary Prep, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon will face off against St. Cloud at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Cloud will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Lake Mary Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Orangewood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Orangewood Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
