If Wabaunsee was feeling good fresh off their 22-4 takedown of Burlingame on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers fell just short of the Chase County Bulldogs by a score of 18-17 on Friday. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meredith Denton was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Rylee White also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Wabaunsee's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Chase County, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-6.

While Wabaunsee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
