Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milford). Everything went their way against the Winton Woods Warriors on Monday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.
Kristine Ruehl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last five contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Milford got a massive performance out of Gabby Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. Lanie McCoy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Milford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winton Woods struck out seven times.
