Meanwhile, Hawthorne waltzed into their match on Friday with 14 straight wins but they left with 15. They walked away with a 48-38 victory over Newberry. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 22 to 4 on the offensive boards, as Hawthorne did.
Jhalea Jackson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Ranicia Coleman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Hilliard now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Hawthorne, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
