The Carroll Tigers will face off against the Nixon Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Carroll's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Ray with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by six runs or more this season.

Isabella Montalvo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Montalvo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ameris Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jaslyn Yzaguirre, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Nixon was able to grind out a solid win over Juarez-Lincoln on Friday, taking the game 11-7. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Like Carroll, Nixon also got a great game from a two-way player: Giulia Garza. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Garza was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kivana Hernandez and Delaney Guevara did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Guevara got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Emily Escamilla was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Carroll's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Nixon, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.
