PikeView hasn't had much luck against Nicholas County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
PikeView had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Montcalm on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Generals 12-2. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 19-0).
Emma Compton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Nicholas County hadn't done well against Woodrow Wilson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Grizzlies never let the Flying Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory.
Nicholas County got a massive performance out of Makenzie Hanshaw, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kylie Amick also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Nicholas County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Nicholas County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for PikeView, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
