Softball Recap: Bosqueville Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Bosqueville got themselves on the board against Jonesboro on Monday, but Jonesboro never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Deja Torres made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in hits (zero). She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jayla Lee was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tagen Huffhines, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Bosqueville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Bosqueville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. Jonesboro's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.

Coincidentally, Bosqueville and Jonesboro will both be playing Hamilton the next time they take the field. Jonesboro will head out to face Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bosqueville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
