After a string of four wins, the Prouty Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oxford. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Prouty came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Oxford is ranked 180th).
Brady Marqoupis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Oxford, scoring 27 points. Another player making a difference was Kofi Owusu, who scored 15 points.
Prouty's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Oxford, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prouty on the road again on Thursday and play against Uxbridge at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Oxford, they will take on Southbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
