Merritt Island Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Nevad, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Connor Angstadt who scored 22 points along with 4 steals. Nevad scored a full 28% of Merritt Island Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Avery Angstadt was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Among those leading the charge was Anthony Bender, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Tegland, who scored 8 points.
Merritt Island Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
