Baseball Recap: Muscatine Has No Trouble Against Clinton

While Muscatine didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Clinton River Kings on Monday as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Muskies have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Muscatine has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Clinton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Muscatine will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Muskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clinton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-0 defeat against Linn-Mar on the 10th.
