The Chapel Hill Tigers were the 65-49 winner over the Jordan Falcons when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Chapel Hill fell to Jordan 46-42.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Smollen, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Franklin Johnson, who scored seven points.
Bryce Hill was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Jordan. Derek Ross jr was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Jordan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Chapel Hill will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Riverside-Durham at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Riverside-Durham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Jordan, they will head out on the road to square off against East Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jordan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
