Port Neches-Groves has struggled against Buna recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenady Dawson, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jaiden Epps was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Port Neches-Groves' loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Buna, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Neches-Groves will take on Goose Creek Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orangefield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
