While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, the Milby Buffs were not quite the Northside Panthers's equal in the second half on Friday. Milby took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northside. Milby was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northside apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Milby's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Sanchez, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanchez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Brown, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Milby has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Northside, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Milby will be playing in front of their home fans against Wisdom at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Wisdom and seven for Milby. As for Northside, they will head out on the road to take on Waltrip at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Waltrip's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
