Phillips entered their tilt with Thornton Fractional North on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 57-52 W over the Thornton Fractional North Meteors.

Phillips got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Akyla Williams out in front who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nila Willis, who had 11 points.

Phillips has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Thornton Fractional North, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Phillips and Thornton Fractional North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Phillips (ranked 121st) will meet Westinghouse (ranked 255th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Thornton Fractional North (ranked 88th) will meet King (ranked 291st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
