Jones is 1-7 against Southside since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jones Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Southside Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Jones is out to stop a 14-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Jones fell victim to Pamlico County's stalwart defense on Monday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 55-0 loss at the hands of the Hurricanes. Jones was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Southside put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Monday. They claimed a resounding 40-7 win over East Carteret at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southside.
TeQuon Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Myquan Clark, who gained 87 total yards and two touchdowns.
Jones' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Southside, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season.
Jones was taken down by Southside 47-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Jones have more luck at home instead of on the road?
