West Greene strolled into their game  on Wednesday with a perfect  record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by  a  10-0 margin over the Mapletown Maples. Considering the Pioneers have won four matches by more than nine  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Payton Gilbert made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run any time she's  pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI and one  run. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Marissa Tharp, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Kendra Tharp was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 West Greene  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mapletown only posted  an  OBP of  .150.
West Greene pushed their record up to 7-0 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mapletown,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-5.
