After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mesquite, the Eastmark Firebirds were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Vista Grande with a sharp 77-57 win. Given Eastmark's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Vista Grande is ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timothy Gorham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Frye, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Eastmark's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Vista Grande, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Eastmark will head out on the road to face off against Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vista Grande and Pueblo will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Pueblo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
