The Dorman Cavaliers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Spartanburg. Dorman has struggled against Spartanburg recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Trenton Lynch went supernova for Spartanburg, rushing for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Lynch really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Kaleb Williams got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Dorman's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-1 Dutch Fork and 9-1 James F. Byrnes (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.2% over those games). As for Spartanburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dorman will face off against James F. Byrnes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. James F. Byrnes is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. As for Spartanburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Rock Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
