Volleyball Recap: Hondo's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Hondo won the last time they faced Dilley, and Araceli Fernandez did her part to make sure it happened again. The Owls were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wolves on Tuesday thanks in part to Fernandez, who had 15 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Hondo never let Dilley on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-22.

Hondo's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-11. As for Dilley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hondo will face off against rival Jourdanton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dilley is set to take on their familiar foe Lytle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
