Basketball Recap: Wildwood Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Wildwood won the last time they faced East Ridge, and Louis Brown did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wildwood Wildcats breezed by the East Ridge Knights to the tune of 77-48 on Friday thanks in part to Brown, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high.

Jordan Corman and Bryce Olson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Corman posted five points along with eight boards and four steals, while Olson had six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Corman is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

Wildwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for East Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Wildwood and Citrus will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wildwood has five straight wins, Citrus has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for East Ridge, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. East Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season.
