Basketball Recap: Jaden Scales Key Part of a Team Effort in Bobcats Win

Orangefield won the last time they faced Anahuac and things went their way on Friday too. The Orangefield Bobcats took down the Anahuac Panthers 53-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Orangefield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Scales out in front who went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points and six assists. The matchup was Scales' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Orangefield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 6.3 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.

Orangefield's record is now 17-7. As for Anahuac, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Orangefield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 91-33 win against Hardin on the 14th. As for Anahuac, they will take on East Chambers at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in East Chambers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 21 games.
