In what's become a running theme this season, the Longmont Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against Greeley West as Longmont made off with a 57-35 win. Winning may never get old, but Longmont sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Cole Corner was a one-man wrecking crew for Longmont as he scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Corner hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cole Gaddis, who scored two points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Despite the defeat, Greeley West saw an underclassman step up: Zaiden Montelongo scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Montelongo pulled down eight or more rebounds. Karter Nickell was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Greeley West's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Nickell got a bit more time on the court (19 vs. his season average of 6.64). Nickell made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with five rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Longmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Greeley West, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
