The Wake County HomeSchool Warriors will square off against the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wake County HomeSchool 4, Forsyth Home Educators 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Wake County HomeSchool's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Cleveland hitters got past them. The Warriors took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Tuesday.
Landen Smith and Austin Clark did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Clark got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Richardson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Forsyth Home Educators made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ambassador Christian School on Thursday. The Hawks blew past the Lions 11-4. Considering the Hawks have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Clarke Stem tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Forsyth Home Educators let Ashton Hooker and Colten Brown run wild. Hooker went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Brown went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Hooker has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Patrick Triolo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Forsyth Home Educators kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ambassador Christian School only managed three hits.
Forsyth Home Educators' win bumped their record up to 13-5-1. As for Wake County HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wake County HomeSchool hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Forsyth Home Educators struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
