Princeton (Cincinnati) girls basketball team remained undefeated as it defeated visiting Mason 54-50 on Wednesday night. The Vikings (18-0) are ranked No. 1 in the Cincinnati Enquirer Division I poll and No. 3 in the Associated Press state poll. Princeton was led by freshman
Kelsey Mitchell, who had 21 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Princeton next plays at Hamilton on Saturday and will host Lakota East on Feb. 12.
NEW CONFERENCE IS FORMEDEight schools have formed the Southwest Ohio Conference and will begin during the fall sports season of 2012, according to the Enquirer.

Talawanda (Oxford),
Northwest (Cincinnati),
Mt. Healthy (Cincinnati),
Harrison,
Little Miami (Morrow) and
Wilmington have agreed to form the conference. School officials are setting up the bylaws and constitution. The schools have already formed their football league schedules for 2012 and are working on other sports. The schools are current members of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference, but announced late last year they were leaving the league.
TOP STANDOUTS* Nikki McKee, Wyoming girls basketball: The senior forward had 36 points in Wyoming's 55-35 win over Summit Country Day. McKee is the leading scorer in the Cincinnati Hills League.
* Casey Carter, Georgetown girls basketball: The junior guard had 24 points and seven assists in a 61-43 win over Amelia, according to the Enquirer. Georgetown remained undefeated at 17-0 after the game.
* Destinee Maynard, Lockland girls basketball: The junior guard had 28 points and seven assists in a 78-25 win over Oyler, according to the Enquirer. It was also the 100th win for Lockland coach Ken Meibers.

* Division II boys and girls sectional diving, 6 p.m. Monday: The start of the winter sports postseason begins at Miami University with the sectional diving meet. The Division I boys meet is Tuesday and the Division I girls meet is Wednesday.
* Badin (Hamilton) at McAuley (Cincinnati) girls basketball, 7:30 p.m. Saturday: These Girls Greater Cincinnati League teams meet in suburban Cincinnati. This will be a good test for both teams as the sectional tournament draws near. McAuley led the Scarlet division with a 15-2 record as of this week. Badin led the Grey Central division with a 12-4 record. Badin has been led by junior forward
Kara Gerbus, who averages 14.5 points. McAuley has three players averaging more than nine points.
