Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Has No Trouble Against Carver

St. John Paul II won against Archbishop Williams on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Lions' way against the Carver Crusaders as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by nine runs or more this season.

Logan Our made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Drew Richards looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Henry Roy and Xavien Suero did most of the damage at the plate: Roy went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Suero went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Suero has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Domenic Toto, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for St. John Paul II and bumps their season record up to 20-2. As for Carver, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will host Nauset Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carver, they will square off against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
