The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the North Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blackville-Hilda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while North is ranked 68th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-50, which was the final score in Blackville-Hilda's tilt against Calhoun County on Friday.
Meanwhile, North entered their tilt with Wagener-Salley with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. North simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Wagener-Salley 75-23 on the road. North has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Stetson Stacks was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five assists and four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Ashton Jamison was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Blackville-Hilda has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for North, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3.
Blackville-Hilda took a serious blow against North in their previous matchup back in January, falling 86-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stacks, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Now that Blackville-Hilda knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
