One reason for the win was Santa Rosa's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led George West over Banquete in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Longhorns blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 71-6 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-6.
Santa Rosa better keep an eye on Kohen Blount. He was instrumental in George West's win, rushing for 147 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. Blount is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 114 every time he's taken the field this season.
George West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 479 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 327 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
