Baseball Recap: Caldwell Academy Takes a Loss

Caldwell Academy lost against High Point Christian Academy last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Caldwell Academy came up short against High Point Christian Academy, falling 14-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caldwell Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer McBurney, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Caldwell Academy is 4-2 when McBurney posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

Caldwell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for High Point Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Caldwell Academy will be playing at home against Bishop McGuinness at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop McGuinness will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Caldwell Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for High Point Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (High Point Christian Academy 2.7, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
