The Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks will be playing at home against the Toledo Christian Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Maumee Valley Country Day took their game at home with ease, bagging a 71-37 victory over the Cadets. The win was just what Maumee Valley Country Day needed coming off of a 81-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Maumee Valley Country Day had a senior duo take command as Christian Majors dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds and Amani-Jordan Chandran-Dickerson scored 33 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Majors has scored at least a third of Maumee Valley Country Day's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Knorek, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Toledo Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They really took it to Ottawa Hills for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-33 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-13.
Maumee Valley Country Day's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Toledo Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Maumee Valley Country Day didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win. Will Maumee Valley Country Day repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
