The Hernando Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Oxford 42-6. Hernando has not had much luck with Oxford recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Jay Brown was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Grandjean, who threw for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Hernando has yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 4-6 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.8 points per game. As for Oxford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oxford will look to defend their home field on November 10th against Germantown at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Germantown is ranked 27th, while Oxford is ranked 17th).
