Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Kenesaw

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Kenesaw on Friday. They strolled past the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils who have now won three matchups in a row.

Kenesaw had a senior duo take command as Avery Kelley went 5 for 11 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds and Elise Schukei posted 11 points and seven boards. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for Schukei. Sophia Schukei was another key player, putting up six points.

Despite the defeat, Lawrence-Nelson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brynnly Harrison put up seven points and three steals.

Kenesaw has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.6 points per game. As for Lawrence-Nelson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Kenesaw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-56 loss against Elm Creek on the 18th. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 29-17 victory against Axtell on the 18th.
