Hope scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Smithfield, 30-28. At the time, the Sentinels was ranked 23rd in the state, while the Blue Wave was 26th.
Hope was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Smithfield 30-28. Michael Gibbons's team came in at 18 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Providence Country Day/Wheeler/Sanchez Complex's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Marquis Harper, Jr. has thrown for 529 yards and five touchdowns this season, while James Alves-Southern has 13 catches for 414 yards. Harper, Jr. also leads the league in rushing with 448 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between North Smithfield and Mt. Pleasant. The Northmen comes into the matchup ranked 16th in the state, while the Kilties ranks 21st.
Christopher Branch's team suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 30-28 loss to the Blue Wave. The Sentinels had been ranked 23rd, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
