When it comes to explaining why Northeast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amani Brown. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 assists. Kavon Conciauro was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Key?shaun Sampton, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Spencer. Sampton hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Gary Gaither, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Northeast has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Spencer, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Northeast will face off against Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harris County at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Harris County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Spencer is ranked 127th).
