The Boquet Valley Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Placid Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Boquet Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Even though Keene Central scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, Boquet Valley still came out on top. Boquet Valley took their matchup against Keene Central 67-59.
Boquet Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Hooper, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hooper has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Maddox Rice, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lake Placid had to suffer through a rough 58-29 loss at the hands of Schroon Lake. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Placid in their matchups with Schroon Lake: they've now lost four in a row.
Boquet Valley pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Lake Placid, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Everything came up roses for Boquet Valley against Lake Placid in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 70-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boquet Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
