Peoria Notre Dame hasn't had much luck against Morton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Irish will face off against the Potters at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Peoria Notre Dame is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Urbana get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Wednesday. The Irish have beaten the Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Jack Livengood made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Peoria Notre Dame is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Livengood was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lawson Alwan and Bryton Blackford did most of the damage at the plate: Alwan went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double, while Blackford went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Blackford has become a key player for Peoria Notre Dame: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Jackson Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Peoria Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Morton came tearing into Monday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 6-0 victory. Give the Potters' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Morton pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Peoria Notre Dame suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Morton in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
