North Pointe Prep put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Valley Lutheran as the squad secured a 68-0 win. North Pointe Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Nijel Rosado, who rushed for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns, and senior Joe Soriano-Garfias, who rushed for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rosado has been a consistent playmaker for North Pointe Prep as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their matchup two weeks ago against Trivium Prep, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy were happy to find some success. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy dodged a bullet, finishing off Red Rock 34-33. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Their wins bumped Scottsdale Preparatory Academy to 4-1 and North Pointe Prep to 5-1. In their victory, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy relied heavily on senior Thomas Anctil, who rushed for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns. North Pointe Prep will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
