East Marion has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Salem Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
East Marion suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-27 loss at the hands of Lumberton.
Kylie Watts was East Marion's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Jakeria McCloud held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Salem's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their 11th straight loss. They took a hard 42-28 fall against Sacred Heart.
East Marion's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Salem, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for East Marion against Salem when the teams last played back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 56-13 win. Will East Marion repeat their success, or does Salem have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
