The Proctor Academy Hornets will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hamden Hall Country Day at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Proctor Academy is ranked 25th in New Hampshire, while Hamden Hall Country Day is ranked 11th in Connecticut).
Proctor Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak two weeks ago. They fell to St. Paul's 26-20.
Meanwhile, Hamden Hall Country Day came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Greenwich Country Day with points to spare, taking the game 45-30. Hamden Hall Country Day pushed the score to 45-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Greenwich Country Day cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Charly Gulbin, who threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Qeanu Johnson, who gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns.
Proctor Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Hamden Hall Country Day, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Proctor Academy barely slipped by Hamden Hall Country Day in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 35-34. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hamden Hall Country Day's Ethan Coady, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.
