The Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers lost against the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Legion Collegiate Academy was the victim of a tough 51-31 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Legion Collegiate Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.
Despite the defeat, Legion Collegiate Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jaylen McMurray scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. McMurray has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Garvin, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Legion Collegiate Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Legion Collegiate Academy will head out on the road to take on the Thunder at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. South Charlotte T will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 487th in North Carolina, while the Lancers are ranked 107th in South Carolina). As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, they will be playing at home against the War Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gray Collegiate Academy is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
