Pomperaug hasn't had much luck against Brookfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Bobcats at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pomperaug was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Immaculate on Wednesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Mustangs.

Kyle Parker was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Noah Pane also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Pomperaug always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Brookfield had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
Mikey Graham looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Ponte, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Matt McDowell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Pomperaug's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Brookfield, their record now sits at 10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pomperaug has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brookfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
