Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Cypress Creek lost against Horizon back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bears took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Cypress Creek got a good showing from Miguel Figueroa, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Figueroa is becoming a predictor of the Bears' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 6-14 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Aaron Camacaro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Cypress Creek's record is now 9-15. As for Horizon, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-11.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will head out to square off against Celebration at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon, they will take on Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
