Nokomis is 7-0 against Pawnee since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Nokomis Redskins will get right back to it and host the Pawnee Indians at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Nokomis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 53-32 loss at the hands of Central A & M. Nokomis has struggled against Central A & M recently, as their game on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Nokomis saw an underclassman step up: Kinley Stolte scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Stolte continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Mehochko, who scored two points.
Meanwhile, Pawnee came up short against Williamsville on Saturday and fell 43-30.
Nokomis' loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Pawnee, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Nokomis was able to grind out a solid victory over Pawnee when the teams last played back in November, winning 45-33. Does Nokomis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pawnee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
